Detroit – November 20, 2017

The innovation and rapid proliferation of advanced in-car connected technologies are creating new challenges for automotive OEMs and infotainment products and application development companies. Infotainment systems have become the heart and soul of the vehicle controlling HVAC, audio, navigation, cameras, plus ever-increasing sensors and intelligence. C-ATS AUTO addresses the challenges of maintaining the quality, security, and integrity of integrated systems in a multi-model year design and development environment cost-effectively.

At booth C206 at the Automotive Testing Expo in Novi, Michigan, CIeNET demonstrated its expertise as a reliable partner for the verification of Android In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Systems. The Automotive Testing Expo is the leading trade fair showcasing new technologies for automotive testing, evaluation and quality engineering designed to ensure the highest standards are met. CIeNET joined over 50 other speakers and hundreds of exhibitors and attendees at the Suburban Collection Showplace. Robert Wicks, the Managing Director of CIeNET’s Detroit office, presented on the topic of test automation and management for next generation vehicles at the Technology Forum on October 24. In addition to the Automotive Testing Expo, CIeNET also unveiled its C-ATS AUTO solution at the 2017 NMSDC Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange, the premier forum on minority supplier development on October 23 at the Cobo Center in Detroit.

Automated Testing Solution for Next-Gen Vehicles

CIeNET showcased its innovative automated testing solution — CIeNET Automated Test System for Automotive (C-ATS AUTO) for the verification of automotive Infotainment Systems. C-ATS AUTO provides a powerful Test Management System (TMS) supporting test script control and management functions such as: test resource management, distributed test execution, intelligent task dispatching, and external system integration. The platform offers complete simulation and feature-rich functionalities allowing extensive testing in the form of Smoke, Sanity, Performance, Integration, Sub-system and System Verification, Security, Safety, and Back-Office Connectivity Testing.

Event participants got a closer look at the demo and verification system including image compare, voice recognition, vehicle bus message simulation, in addition to user behavior simulation and verification. C-ATS AUTO’s voice recognition capabilities enable the identification of both vehicle chimes and human speech. With C-ATS AUTO, 80% automation can be achieved which will reduce more than half of the required manpower and double the test productivity.

Robert Wicks also shared CIeNET’s experience with automated system test execution. Working with car makers and Tier 1 vendors, CIeNET has adapted Android to work in a multi-system IVI architecture to support feature, system integration, performance and stability testing. Our C-ATS AUTO automated test execution system provides streamlined and rapid test script implementation, defect logging and tracking, comprehensive software and in-vehicle verification, as well as ready-made test cases and test scripts allowing CIeNET to quickly build test plans based on customer-specific quality assurance targets.
